PLATELET-RICH PLASMA (PRP)

What is PRP?

PRP or Platelet-Rich Plasma, is derived from human blood that is processed in a centrifuge to separate and concentrate platelets to levels higher than usual. While platelets are primarily known for their role in blood clotting, they also possess powerful healing properties that can aid in the recovery of muscles, tendons, and ligaments. The growth factors released by platelets attract repair cells, support tissue regeneration, and speed up the healing process of soft tissues.

How Skin PRP Works?

  • Blood Collection: A small amount of your blood is drawn, similar to a routine blood test.
  • PRP Extraction: The blood is spun in a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich plasma from other blood components. This PRP is packed with growth factors that stimulate healing and collagen production.
  • Application: The PRP is either injected into targeted areas or applied topically after a micro-needling session. This allows the growth factors to penetrate deeply, promoting cell regeneration and collagen synthesis.
  • Rejuvenation and Healing: The activated growth factors encourage skin repair, reducing fine lines, wrinkles, and acne scars while improving skin elasticity and texture.

Benefits of Skin PRP

  • Improves Skin Texture and Tone: Enhances overall skin complexion, making it smoother and more radiant.
  • Reduces Fine Lines and Wrinkles: Stimulates collagen production, reducing the appearance of aging signs.
  • Minimizes Scars and Pigmentation: Effectively treats acne scars and uneven pigmentation.
  • Boosts Elasticity and Firmness: Restores skin elasticity, making it firmer and more youthful.
  • Natural and Safe: Uses your own plasma, minimizing the risk of allergic reactions or side effects.

Post-Care Instructions

  • Avoid Sun Exposure: Protect treated areas from direct sunlight for at least 48 hours.
  • No Makeup or Harsh Products: Refrain from using makeup or any active skincare products (like retinol or acids) for 24-48 hours.
  • Hydration is Key: Keep the skin well-hydrated with a gentle, soothing moisturizer.
  • Minimal Touching: Avoid touching or scratching the treated areas to prevent irritation or infection.
  • Gentle Cleansing: Use a mild cleanser and lukewarm water to wash the face. Avoid hot water or steam.
